The Evolution of the Modern Saddles from the Traditional Portuguese ones
Most of the creations that were done by man or man-made things usually have a basic initial structure/product from which man develops a better more efficient product. Any product in the market would have actually gone through the various versions of the same basic product with time.
The changes that were made to the newer product are just like an add-on feature that man desires in any product. Sometimes in the cycle, the initial product that made the market itself is wanted by the customers. So depending on the customers demand also the products take a change accordingly. The Modern Portuguese models are similarly those that evolved out of the Tradition Portuguese models.
Various types available:
When Portuguese saddles are thought of, the first product that comes to mind is the Traditional Portuguese saddle. Today the tradition saddle is most commonly known as ‘sela Portuguesa’ has evolved from the 18th century saddle. The Lusitano brands of saddle are hand-made and are same as the ones used in the past just with some minor difference made for the extra resistance and flexibility.
The Relvas saddle is one of the best known other Portuguese traditional saddles. Some other newer Portuguese saddles are D.Dinis, D.Dominigues, Portuguese equitation and Ribatejo are 2 classic types which are all basically developed from the traditional design. The change and feel of the newer ones are the reason for the inventive thinking of the people to give the saddle a better quality on the whole.

I have always wanted to ride but have never really had the chance seeing as it is quite expensive (not only the lessons but also the boots etc.) I always have loved the idea of being up there on a horse and building a great bond with it, so I have been thinking that I could save up to get the things i’ll need so on average how much will these items cost (English Pounds please)…
