Someone’s question got me thinking…what kind of stuff can you/do you pick up at the dollar store (or somewhere else super cheap) for your horses?

I buy:
- big tub of hair gel (for braiding)
- mini rubber ponytail holders (for braiding)
- wide tooth combs
- buckets and scrub brushes for cleaning
- generic lysol, bleach, listerine, antibacterial dial soap, etc.
- Mane N Tail shampoo and conditioner
- first aid kit stuff for humans
- tupperware-like containers for storing items in my tack trunk (shoebox size and bigger..bigger is great for blankets!)
- garbage cans for storing grain
- miscellaneous hardware items (bungee cords, padlock, etc.)
- gingerbread men cookies (horse treats!)

I have bought a brush for the main at the dollar store.
My riding instructor bought a window scrapper type thing and uses it as a sweat scraper! It works great lol.

Just some advice the pony tails for braiding, they don’t look very nice or classy, we used to have someone do it at our barn. Our coach did tell her that you can’t show with them in if they are noticable you can be eliminated from dressage, just a heads up! lol.
