It would be extremely dangerous to place a pole behind a jump. This creates a false ground line that confuses the horse. He will perceive the jump as being farther away than it is. His judgement of distance would create a danger as a result.

Out of curiosity, how can you tell what size saddle fits your needs.
How can you tell:
What size gullet?
What type of tree?
What seat size?
Full, semi, regular bars?
What length stirrup leathers?
What size stirrup?
Regular or wide?
