How long it takes to train a dressage horse / jump?

I think my horse has started the next week, is 12, a horse previous races, but very intelligent and level headed. I chose the coach told me that my horse would need 3-4 days of training 5 days per week and one week early. I do not know what will happen or even what questions I should do. The coach is more than qualified and indicates that perhaps few months we could aim for a program beginning soon. Our goal is to sell the ultimatley dressage horse or jumper or two. I guess the horse is taught in many issues that I understand my everyhorse is different.
