my shetland has a normal snaffle bit. I don’t think your horse/pony needs a driving bit. But my shetland has bit guards which is a good thing to do apparently when your driving a horse/pony, the bit can sort of slip through the horse/ponies mouth, soputting bit guards on the bit is always a precaution.
