Shedrow Horse Barns

Our shedrow barns are quick, easy and the perfect solution for your overcrowded horse barn or paddock, the horse owner just starting out with her first horse, or your boarding stables that just has to have the extra room. Because of their versatility, the shedrow is ideal to move from one pasture to another and can house one to five horses depending on size.

Made with the highest quality workmanship and materials, the shedrow is spacious, solidly durable, portable, attractive and readily available. The barn is constructed with white pine board & batten siding and comes standard with 30 year architectural shingles- your choice of color. Stall sizes come standard 10×10 or 12×12 depending on the barn size. Each stall comes standard with one dutch door and one sliding nine light window. A solid oak kickboard 4’ high is constructed around the perimeter of each stall. Between the stalls is a solid wall divider or a metal partition grill divider (take your pick). The tack room is constructed with a solid floor and one service door with one window. A drop vent comes standard between the tack room and the adjoining stall.

Developing a Field for Horses?

We have a field that is approximately 3 acres and hope to have 2 horses housed there some day. We will likely have a combination of wood and electric fence. We will have a turnout area with a shelter, as well as a small riding area. We’ll be building a small barn (2 stalls and 2 storage areas for feed and tack), as well as a storage shed. We have also figured out how to run electricity to the new horse area.

My dilemma is water. We live in an area that gets pretty cold in the winter, way below freezing. We have a well which supplies our house but is at least 100 yards from where the ‘barn’ will go. Since we can’t afford to dig another well, suggestions have been to either run a line under the frost line from the house to the field, or have a water holding tank in the barn. We will want water supplied in the barn as well as a trough outside as we plan to leave the horses out as much as possible.

I had the same situation on my new property last year. After hauling water for awhile, we finally just ran a water line to the barn. Let me tell ya, it is definitely worth doing. They can just tie into the main waterline coming off your well pump, but the line does have to be buried about 6 feet deep, which requires quite a bit of excavation.

We put in a hose spigot and an automatic waterer. I don’t know how I ever lived without the auto waterer–it is the best. I don’t even have to worry about water at all in the winter. It’s SO nice.

So I suggest just sucking it up and running the water line down to the barn. It’ll be worth your investment.
